Through Sport Yoga practice, you can achieve a balanced, healthy, peaceful life.

It is not necessary to be able to twist your body into a pretzel to achieve the physical benefits of yoga.  A person can achieve all the benefits from yoga including vibrant health, flexibility, and stamina the unified body-mind brings us.

Yoga is a technology for arriving in the present moment.  It is a means of waking up from our spiritual amnesia, so that we can remember all the we already know.  It is a way of remembering our true nature. 

Each individual can achieve understanding only through their own exploration and discovery through yoga, all of life is a continual process of refinement which allows us to see more clearly.  Yoga is a process of deconstructing all the barriers we may have erected that prevent us from having an authentic connection with ourselves and with the world.

My instruction of Sport Yoga begins with a series of exercises to loosen the muscles and joints .   We then move through a session of stretching the body and forming different poses, while  breathing slow and controlled.  The body becomes relaxed and energized at the same time.  It is done through slow, methodical poses allowing the concentration on spinal flexibility and on breathing to help create a calm nervous system.   Through correct breathing, the brain cells receive proper oxygenation, aiding the nervous system.

For optimum effectiveness, you need regular, sustained yoga.  Establishing a rhythm and expectancy creates lasting benefits for your health and weight management.  The completion of a yoga session includes a progressive relaxation in which all parts of the body are tightened and then released. Your body experiences the feeling of renewal and rejuvenation.  From this state, a deep healing can begin, which is the basis for a refreshing day and long-lasting benefits for your entire system.
